The first friendly match ahead of the 2020-2021 season took place away in Szombathely against Haladas. The home side will kick off their season in the second division next week. New manager Gabor Marton fielded the following starting eleven: Rockov - Bolla, Rus, Stopira, Zeke - Patkai, Nyari - Funsho, Houri, Geresi - Nikolic.

The home side began the match with long range efforts. Two came from Racz with Milan Nemeth also sending a shot from distance at the visiting goal. Rockov managed to save his second attempt at goal. A cross from Bolla on 10 minutes was headed wide by Nikolic. Andras Simon then saw his shot from 25 meters after 13 minutes saved by Vidi keeper Rockov with the ball heading towards the bottom right corner. Six minutes later and a sharp ball in from Funsho only just failed to find Nikolic at the far post. We had to wait until 29 minutes for the next chance in this game. Rockov did well to punch away a Racz free kick from under his own bar. Rockov was again called upon after 34 minutes following a cross from Simon. Houri then tried 10 minutes later with a shot from close range that went wide of the goal. Holdampf powerfully tested Rockov after 39 minutes, but he could not beat the impressive Vidi keeper. Almost a minute later and a shot from Bolla was acrobatically saved by Verpecz from under his own bar. The referee blew the half time whistle and the two sides went in at the break with the score at 0-0.

The second half began with Vidi having a different side apart from midfielder Patkai. Kovacs - Vago, Fiola, Musliu, Hangya - Patkai, Nikolov - Nego, Hodzic, Petryak - Zivzivadze. Musliu did well to clear ahead of Simon in the opening 10 minutes of the second period. Then Simon managed to get his head to the ball, which produced a very good save from Kovacs. A corner from Nikolov on 59 minutes was headed cleanly at goal, but it hit a defender. Kovacs got down to save a Racz shot on 68 minutes as the action continued in Szombathely. Ferenc Racz was proving to be the most active player from the home side and after 74 minutes, his free kick was punched away by Kovacs. Petryak tried from 25 meters with 9 minutes remaining and it went just wide of the bottom right post. There were no further chances in the second half and the referee blew his whistle for full time.

The team travelled back to Bukfurdo after the friendly game where their 11 day training camp will begin. They are next in action on Tuesday with a game against Slovan Bratislava in the capital city of Slovakia.
