Krisztian Geresi signs contract extension

The player who came through the youth system will remain with the club until June 2021.

Krisztian Geresi made his Vidi debut on the 28th November 2015 in a game against MTK. He then scored his first goal for the club a couple of weeks later in a game against Paks at the Sostoi Stadium. It was the final game at the old stadium and Geresi scored the last goal there.

Geresi has played in 76 competitive games so far in the colours of Vidi and those have brought 13 goals. One of them came in a match in 2016 against Haladas, which went on to be voted goal of the season for the year by the supporters.

"I would not wish anyone, including my enemy, the last two and a half years that Krisztian Geresi has had to go through. The club remained behind Krisztian throughout and he was given our full support. He never once thought about not starting his rehabilitation with us. In today’s world, it's a very good thing there are people you can still trust, unfortunately this is a rarity. We are waiting for Krisztian Geresi, who was banging on the door of the national team at that time, because that player can be a great reinforcement for today's Vidi" - said Director of Football Zoltan Kovacs.

"First of all, I want to thank the management of the club, who didn't give up on me for a minute. I only want to look ahead, I don't want to deal with the past, I'd rather forget the last two and a half years. I would also like to thank those that stood by me all the way through. I have been preparing with the NB III team for the last few weeks, I have also played in training matches. I still need to build up my fitness but I am looking forward to starting work with the NB I team during pre-season and linking up with the others. I also got a lot of support from the fans, a lot of people in the city stopped me in the streets, wished me the best and remaining interested in me. I would also like to return in the best possible shape and help the team to further nice successes." - said Krisztian Geresi.
