Diosgyor arrived at the MOL Arena Sostoi having won and lost in their opening two league games. Vidi went into the home match having picked up two wins and six points.

Manager Marko Nikolic brought in Ivan Petryak, Akos Elek and Georgi Milanov from the team that had won away at Puskas Academy last week. Armin Hodzic, Mate Patkai and Anel Hadzic took their places on the subs bench. Vidi lined up as follows: Kovácsik - Nego, Juhász, Fiola, Hangya - Kovács, Huszti, Elek, Petrjak - Milanov, Futács.

Visiting manager Fernando chose the following eleven: Danilovic - Shestakov, Brkovic, Karan, Polgár - Márkvárt, Adukor - Hasani, Tajti, Zsolnai - Prosser. However, they were forced into a change before kick off when Adukor was injured and Bence Szabo came in. Vidi Director of Football Zoltan Kovacs handed over a shirt to celebrate Loic Nego's 150th NB I game in the season opener against Kaposvar.

The game did not start well with Vidi falling behind inside 30 seconds when Zsolnai sent a cross in from the left, which went under the foot of Juhasz and into the path of Prosser, whose shot beat Kovacsik as it rolled over the line (0-1).

Vidi had some promising situations in front of the visiting goal in the minutes that followed but it was DVTK that had the next big chance on 7 minutes. Zsolnai stepped inside the box on the right and his low cross went across the face of the goal and wide of the far post. Prosser was again on the ball after 10 minutes inside the box, but Fiola managed to clear the danger in the final second. Three minutes passed and Vidi drew level: Huszti took a free kick that was headed at goal by Juhasz, which was parried by keeper Danilovic, with the ball falling to Elek, who from close range hit the bar but reacted the fasted to stab home the lose ball (1-1).

Chances kept on coming in the minutes that followed with Milanov next to powerfully hit wide after 23 minutes from 17 meters. The linesman raised his flag with Prosser getting in behind the defence a minute later. Milanov gained possession off Markvart on 33 minutes, before playing in a low cross. Brkovic tussled with Futacs and the ball ran to Petryak, who found the corner of the net, but the referee ruled the goal out.

Prosser turned towards goal after 38 minutes and sent an effort from 20 meters, which was punched away by Kovacsik. The visitors were reduced to 10 men just before half time: Hangya hit a ball forward, which Shestakov stuck his head to, but Futacs managed to control the ball on the half way line and found Petryak on the left, but Brkovic challenged and the Vidi player fell to the floor. Referee Bogar showed the second yellow card to the DVTK player and he walked off after seeing red. Manager Fernando sent Mark Tamas on to replace Zsolnai.

Injury time almost saw Vidi go ahead when Petryak got in behind the defence and his ball in to Milanov just failed to see him find the goal with the teams going in at the break 1-1. The second half started actively and the lead was gained on 53 minutes. Huszti played in Kovacs, whose delicate move took the ball beyond Markvart and he chose to pass instead of shoot. Futacs was waiting to pounce to make it 2-1.

Diosgyor put in some tough tackles following Vidi taking the lead with Tajti clashing with Kovacs and that led to several players squaring up. Szabo then hacked down Nego shortly after.

Nego received a lovely ball from Kovacs after 58 minutes and the right back aimed to curl the ball towards the far post, but he was challenged and the ball was cleared. With 72 minutes played, Milanov came off to be replaced by Hodzic. A free kick a minute later ended with Juhasz headed at goal, but the ball hit the post and it ended up coming off the back of keeper Danilovic and into the back of the net (3-1).

3-1 became 4-1 after 75 minutes when Hodzic took the ball towards the box before pulling the ball back and beating both Tamas and Markvart, before striking a powerful shot at the near post to make it 4-1. Patkai came on for Futacs following that fourth goal and Huszti was replaced by Hadzic.

The fifth goal came after 85 minutes: Hangya crossed and the move ended with Hodzic hitting a hard shot that towards the right post to make it 5-1. The Bosnian forward did well to find space and score his second goal after coming on.

Petryak still had time to play a diagonal ball across to Kovacs after 89 minutes. The midfielder played the ball through to Hodzic, who from close range shot at Danilovic. Two minutes later and Kovacs sent in a ball from the right, which Patkai curled wide of the right post.

The referee blew the full time whistle and Vidi made it 9 points from 9 with their third win of the new season. Next up is Paks away next weekend and the red and blues will be looking to defend their 100% record.
