Five interesting factors ahead of the game with MTK

MOL Vidi FC take on MTK in the final home league game of the season on Saturday.

MOL Vidi FC will play their final home league match of the season against MTK at 17:00pm. Our opponents are fighting to avoid relegation and are currently in 10th place going into the match. We take a look at five interesting factors ahead of the match.

Suspensions and injuries at MTK

The Budapest side will have Mate Katona and Laszlo Lencse suspended for Saturday's match. MTK also have injuries to worry about: Honved signing Ikenne-King and Akos Baki look like missing out having not played in the spring. Artem Kychak had a knee operation and Daniel Gera has been out since 20th April. Adam Vass has not been included in the squad in several games this season.

Stopira can reach Miklos Szoke

Stopira is preparing for his 220th Vidi match. The left back most recently caught up with Nemanja Nikolic and Tibor Ispaics. Now he has Miklos Szoke in sight with his 216 second division games and 4 in the cup. Loic Nego can catch up with keeper Zsolt Sebok, while Akos Elek could go level with Andre Alves and Imre Derfalvi.

Home grown players in the MTK Squad

There are several players within the MTK squad that came through the youth system. They also have players that have gone onto play for other clubs before returning "home" to MTK. They include Adam Pinter and Laszlo Lencse, who was part of Vidi's first title winning squad. Tamas Kulcsar and Bela Balogh also fall into this category. Captain Jozsef Kanta has only played for Saturday's opponents in his career while Mate Patkai is now a MOL Vidi player who used to play for the team from the capital. Patrik Vass linked up with the first team squad in 2011 before moving on to other clubs, only to return as did Istvan Bognar. Players to have come through their youth system are Gera, Baki, Katona, Vogyicska, Deutsch, Kapronczai, Bence Varga, Bidzilya and Varju.

The team with the least league points in 2019 arrive on Saturday
Only 7 points have been picked up in 2019 so far by MTK in the OTP league over 13 games. Four of those came under former manager Tamas Feczko, while three have been collected under current boss Tamas Lucsanszky. The blue and whites during the winter looked comfortable in the league after 18 games and were 11 points from the relegation place. They are only in 10th place and level on points with 11th in the table DVTK due to having won more games.

Fair play
MOL Vidi FC and MTK Budapest FC were two sides for a long period not to have had a red card shown. However, match 29 saw the sending off of midfielder Anel Hadzic, while MTK have still not had a man sent off this season.
