The Hungarian national football team, preparing for the qualifying matches of the 2024 European Championship, hosted Estonia in a friendly match on Thursday evening in front of more than 40,000 fans at the Puskás Arena. Loic Nego from MOL Fehérvár FC was part of the squad, while Attila Fiola, who was also invited, was not available for the coaching staff led by Marco Rossi due to a knee injury.

In the 37th minute it looked like we would take the lead with a goal from Bendegúz Bolla, who transferred from Fehérvár to Wolves and is currently on loan at Grasshoppers in Switzerland, but the referee disallowed the goal after a VAR review for being offside. In the 41st minute, Martin Ádám headed into the right side of the goal after Bálint Vécsei's shot, so Hungary went into the break with a one goal advantage.

In the second half, the best chance to decide the game came in the 71st minute, when the referee awarded a penalty for a foul against Kerkez after a video review, but Roland Sallai's shot into the bottom right corner was saved by the goalkeeper.

The result remained the same after that, as the Hungarian national team tuned up for Monday's European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria, also at home, with a 1-0 win.
